I am an academic and human rights scholar with more than a decade of experience with leading US universities, the United Nations, and American IT companies in multi-stakeholder settings. I now work for the European Commission addressing policy and regulatory issues pertaining to emerging technologies. In my academic capacity, I undertake the following roles: Co-Lead and Senior Fellow for the Business & Human Rights Pillar at the Zicklin Center for Normative Business Ethics Research at The Wharton School, UPenn; Senior Lecturer on Information Communication Technologies (ICT) and Human Rights at Loyola University School of Law (Chicago); and alternate member on the board of the Global Network Initiative, a multi-stakeholder initiative promoting and protecting freedom of expression and privacy online.
